It is suggested that you are in relatively good health and condition to ride…if you find you cannot continue the course on the same day, additional fees may apply.

If you have health issues, please contact our office to discuss them.

If you fail the course, it is not a big problem. If you should fail one of the tests, written or riding, you have some options available to you.

  • You might consider enrolling in the course at a later date,
  • Schedule a tutoring session, or
  • Schedule a private class.

Because the Basic Rider Course and Scooter School are recognized by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety for on-cycle waiver, it is mandatory that the course is passed in order to receive a certificate of completion.

You should consider a tutoring session or private class if you are:

  • Unable to meet the minimum basic skills required to proceed in the class,
  • Show yourself to be a danger to yourself or your classmates during the class---if this occurs, you will not be allowed to continue the training program, or
  • Believe you are too fearful to participate in the actual class environment.

Due to issues in the past, it has come to our attention that some students are not able to complete a class session. The reasons range from coordination issues, failure to grasp the concepts in the allotted time, or various medical reasons. It is unfair to all concerned to hold up class time to deal with these issues individually. If individual time is deemed necessary, we will make every reasonable attempt to work with the student to arrange a time to deal with those issues.

We are only doing this to be fair to all concerned.
